This role is based in Brisbane.

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Provide structural engineering analysis and design for mining /material handling/heavy industrial/ civil structures (e.g., foundations, retaining walls, steel gantry structures, culverts) to Australian Standards
• Conduct structural condition assessments and provide practical structural solutions
• Develop alternative solutions and identify risks and benefits
• Plan engineering activities
• Mentor more junior staff
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, and scopes of work
• Provide engineering sketches, lead designers and review engineering drawings
• Provide input to engineering, operating and cost estimates
• Participate and contribute to design reviews

You bring to the role:

• Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution
• 7 yrs + experience in multidisciplinary consultancy environment
• Demonstrated design experience in mining/industrial projects from concept to detail design
• Strong background in basic engineering principles
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for inter-departmental and external company interactions
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Structural design software experience - SpaceGass, Strand7 and Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry regulatory standards relating to structural engineering, including Australian codes and standards
