Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch, is currently seeking a Rail Systems Engineer to join the Infrastructure group Sydney.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Be responsible for coordinating allocated projects
  • Be responsible for the overall design work of allocated projects. Particular responsibilities are project specific, but may include Electrical / Mechanical & Control Systems Modelling Services, and the co-ordination of all other Services as applicable
  • Develop Operational Simulation models, using NDYLTK Rail’s in house programme, “Train Ops” that accurately represent our client’s railway networks and provide them valuable performance data. Assist with the development of software tools which help make building network models more efficient
  • Be responsible for developing and maintaining good working relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure long-term business partnerships

You bring to the role:

  • Bachelors Engineering degree or equivalent
  • CPEng and RPEQ preferred
  • More than 7 years engineering experience across the full project lifecycle and responsibility for delivering projects. Experience with rolling stock and/or rail systems preferred.
  • Preferred experience in the following:
  1. Design (Rolling stock mechanical / electrical / electronic systems / Software)
  2. Testing & Commissioning (Rail Systems)
  3. Experience in evaluation of RAMS characteristics including analyses for SIL, FMECA, FAT, V&V, Reliability, Risk, per MIL882 and EN50126
  4. International standards such as EN25126, EN25126, EN25128 & ISO15288
  • Ability to write technical requirements, manage requirements compliance, perform field inspections at manufacturing facilities, and oversee testing, and commissioning
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels including a proven ability to communicate with technical staff across multiple disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with clients
